Traces of artificial radionuclides in Scandinavia

The Scandinavian authorities announced on their websites that artificial radionuclides were detected in the air in the first half of June 2020. The measured concentrations of radionuclides are very low and pose no danger to humans or the environment.

Chernobyl forest fires April 2020 (update 2021)

In 2020, particularly serious forest fires occurred in the area of the exclusion zone around Chernobyl (1986 nuclear power plant accident). Tiny traces of radioactive caesium-137 may have been transported as far as Switzerland.

Relocation of the URAnet-Aero Fribourg station

The nuclide-specific monitor at the Fribourg station was moved to Mühleberg at the beginning of February. For this reason, no new measured values will be displayed at the Fribourg station.
